Our Living Languages
RBCM | 2024

In 2024 our team developed a new version of the Our Living Languages exhibit. My primary role in this project was working alongside our designer to fabricate the interactive greeting poles. Working from their original concept sketches, I made 3D models to develop a final form which was a visually minimal reference to the verticality of trees. It needed to be intuitive to use, durable, easily (but secretly) removable for access to both install or replace parts as needed, and be a rewarding experience for visitors. Working with our A/V team to integrate the necessary electronics, the resulting display provides visitors an engaging experience to hear indigenous elders speak their traditional greeting from 32 unique territories.
